Antiformant is the collective moniker for the creative projects developed by . This can be broadly broken into two groups:

  1. Musical output, largely focused on work with Buchla format modular synthesisers

  2. Electronic musical instrument development including -

    • Cards designed for the Buchla 208 Stored Program Sound Source

    • Buchla format modules

    • Standalone electronic sound making instruments

    • Control surfaces and interfaces for hands-on creation and manipulation of voltage

The expanded acronym formed from the word Antiformant references Allen Strange's excellent 1974 manual for the Buchla Music Easel; 'Programming and Meta-Programming in the Electro-Organism', the Sixth Circuit of the Eight-circuit model of consciousness hypothesised by Timothy Leary in 1977, and the 1968 book by John C. Lilly 'Programming and Metaprogramming in the Human Biocomputer'.
